Oil and Gas Industry
Downtime on an offshore drilling or production platform can cost millions of dollars. Pipeline companies cannot afford to have unplanned shutdowns and interruption in the flow of products.
DTS has performed hundreds of IR inspections on offshore and pipeline facilities. We have implemented several corporate programs to inspect complete pipeline systems onshore as well as many production platforms and drill ships/rigs in the GoM.
We sale, service and install IR Windows. These windows allow IR inspections to be performed in safe and timely manner and conform to NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. Infrared transparent windows will not perform up to expectations if they are not installed properly. DTS offers expert installation and inspection of IR windows.
All our personnel are TWIC certified and many have received the necessary safety training to work offshore. TWIC was established by Congress through the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) and is administered by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and U.S. Coast Guard. TWICs are tamper-resistant biometric credentials that are issued to workers who require unescorted access to secure areas of ports, vessels, outer continental shelf facilities and all commercial facilities. FBI background checks have been completed on each of our thermographers and all have been certified through the Department of Homeland Security’s TWIC credential program.
An infrared inspection of electrical, mechanical and operations equipment is critical and very cost effective in reducing unplanned downtime.
